Ivory urges local people to have their say on how we deal with Norfolk's waste
Monday, 10 March 2008
dscf1084.jpgHow we dispose of our waste is a controversial topic and Trevor Ivory has welcomed the launch of a major consultation exercise by Norfolk County Council to determine how local people want to see their waste disposed of.

“We should all be doing everything that we can to minimise the amount of waste that we throw away – and that includes a much bigger effort by the supermarkets to cut down on unnecessary packaging for our food – but no matter what we do, we will always have some waste that cannot be recycled,” explained Mr Ivory.

“But what we do with that waste is a controversial question and I am pleased to see that our Conservative County Council has decided to consult with us before making any decisions. Local people deserve a say and it is now important that we all take part. I have already carried out the survey online and it took just a few minutes,” Mr Ivory added.

The survey is available online now at norfolk.gov.uk/futureofwaste.
